Every week students visit the learning commons as part of our related arts schedule.  Students are exposed to literacy, technology, and STEM activities in the learning commons.  They are also able to check out library books and receive assistance in finding books that are right for them.

Checkout limits are as follows:

Kindergarten and first grade: one book

Second, third, fourth and fifth grades: two books

Books are checked out for two weeks and may be renewed for addtional time if needed.

Damaged Books

Please return damaged books to the library. Books damaged while checked out to a student will be assessed by the librarian to see if it can be repaired. A damage bill with replacement costs will be sent home for books damaged beyond repair.

Books that have not surfaced in 30 days are presumed to be lost, and a bill with replacement costs will be sent home

Overdue Books

There is not a fine for overdue books. However, if a student has an overdue book, checkout privileges may be denied until the book is returned. Books overdue for more than 30 days will be presumed lost.

Library Visits

Each class has a scheduled time to receive library instruction, return books, and select new ones. Individual students may come to open checkout throughout the day with teacher permission.
